Happy health and holidays to all! The Sustainable Athlete coaches have been very busy this fall…
Coach Mike just wrapped up a hugely successful fall Couch to 5K and 10K program. The programs culminated with the Bath Pumpkin 5K and the Great Osprey 10K at Wolfe’s Neck Farm. All of participants have a lot to be proud of, most have continued with our Saturday Sunrise Runs out of Maine Running Company and there has been discussion of future events… perhaps the Race The Runway Half Marathon in the spring?! Coach Mike has also started the 3x weekly indoor cycling classes in Bowdoin, ME. Classes are open to all and will carry on through the winter, contact mike@thesustainableathlete.com with any questions.
Coach Denise had multiple teams participate in a wet and wild Maine Marathon; the team camaraderie was a great element to taking a group with relative fresh experience through their first cumulative 26.2. This weekend will be a lot of fun with a large “Hot to Trot” group partaking in the Turkey Trot 5K on Sunday.
The Sustainable Athlete is very excited about the upcoming winter season. We really hope you enjoy the new, refreshed look of our website and the soon to be launching Maine Running Academy www.mainerunningacademy.com. All of our group training opportunities and training clinics will be posted on the new Academy site. Perhaps most exciting of all is the build out of our new training space in Portland located in the rear entrance of The Maine Running Company, 563 Forrest Ave. The new space will serve as a Portland hub for group training, spin classes, running groups, and gait clinics as well as individual athlete consultation, bike fitting, and run gait analyses. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with questions and swing by the new space when you get a free moment!
