The 2014 70.3 World Championships were hosted in Mont Tremblant this past weekend, which marks the first time the event has been hosted outside the United States since the race’s inception in 2006.  Sustainable Athlete Coach and Athlete, Sarah Russell was racing alongside sister, Jennifer Mahoney…  both executed outstanding races as top American finishers in the W45-59 AG.  Coach Sarah unleashed a 1:33 Half Marathon (on a very hilly course) to move through the field and finish the day in the top spot; 2014 World Champion W45-49!  Jen also ran her way through the field to finish the day in 4th position and 3rd American.

The inspiration is endless at these events, many stories are shared and raceday yields a script that could never be written.  As inspiring as it was to watch Javier Gomez race with otherworldly speed it was equally amazing to watch the finishes through the mid-afternoon.  Having qualified at the 2013 Timberman 70.3, Mike Cowell of Yarmouth, ME was racing in his first World Championship event in the M75-79 AG.  Mike finished the day in 4th place amongst an incredible group of athletes.  Congrats to all!
