Friday Night Fights Round 2

Friday Night Fights revisited a 7 mile, rolling course from years past. As always, it was fun to compare 2015 course times with past performances… many were 2-3 min. faster with significant improvements in power to weight ratios. Another course record was set as Eliot Pitney bested last year’s performance by ~16 seconds. The new mark on the Men’s side is 16:27.4. Eliot was followed by Zev Myerowitz and Ta Herrera for the top 3 slots. Ashley Niehoff moved into contention for the Women’s belt title with a win in 20:57.5 and followed by Heidi Watson and Christina Cracolici. *(Results will be updated as there were folks that completed the course earlier in the week).

2015 Friday Night Fights

The 4th year of Friday Night Fights is officially underway with Round 1 taking place on January 9th. The traditional 6.2 mile prologue course was used to establish New Year fitness baselines; a few newcomers with a fresh starting point and veterans pushing through the personal records of previous years. Downeast Racing had a strong showing with Eliot Pitney establishing a new event record for this course and Zev Myerowitz as runner up. Former FNF Belt Holder, Carrie McCusker, climbed with the best and took top female honors followed by Heidi Watson. Congrats to all racers! On a side note it was an emotional farewell to Rob Andrew’s trusty steel steed as she held on to carry the jockey 1st across the line for their respective wave start… on to greener pastures!:-) Next Fight is Friday, January 23rd!
